The Top 20 Albums Of 2011

Because this is a personal site there are bound to be a few great albums missing from this list that I probably love, I just don’t know it. What I can say however is that many of the albums I did listen to properly I absolutely loved. It may not have been the best year ever in terms of new albums, but it certainly was a pretty good one. Anyway, now that I’m feeling suitably defensive, here are my favourite albums of the year. Set to shit haiku. Because why not?

Foster The People Interview

Apart from a certain rapper, LA band Foster The People are the most hyped act of 2011. It’s impossible to read anything music-related online without catching mention of their breakout hit Pumped Up Kicks or debut LP ‘Torches’. Mostly however, it’s because this is a band simply incapable of writing a bad song and whose music is oozing with so much charisma, polish, skill, and- well- coolness, that not to love it would take a serious and concentrated effort.

Foster The People ‘Call It What You Want’

There’s a new song from Foster The People floating around on the interwebs today, Call It What You Want. It’s the third track off their upcoming debut LP ‘Torches’, and this makes it nearly half of the album we’ve heard now. Does that mean I’m technically allowed to call it my favourite album of the year so far yet?
