Neighbourhood Youth are a Melbourne-based fourpiece who have recently released their first music video, shot for their single Holiday, which is the title track from their upcoming debut EP. The video is nice and simple, which is fine, because it allows the song to really shine. And what a song it is. Holiday is a great indie rock number, full of a galloping drum beat, wonderfully dark and earthly vocals, and plenty of subtle little touches that make for a really nice listening experience. It’s unmistakable summer music, but there’s also something a bit more hiding under the surface here that sets this track apart from a lot of other music we’ve been hearing lately.
Check out the clip or stream the song itself below, and hit up Neighbourhood Youth on Facebook and Unearthed, where you can download Holiday. The guys are launching the EP November 30th at Ding Dong.
they’re so good! check out their track/video for Sweater Weather and Let It Go if you haven’t yet- those are my favorite of their tracks.
