Listen To Five New The xx Songs

I do love me some The xx, even if their lack of capitalization drives me crazy whenever I post about them. Rumours have been circulating about a new album from the band for a while now, and these rumours were recently confirmed by the band on Facebook, who posted a photo of themselves recording new material. But, for Pinback’s recent show at the Corner Hotel, what the crowd lacked in size they made up for with enthusiasm, obvious love for the band, and appreciation of good music. Combined with Pinback’s unique take on rock music, this made for a very enjoyable and very memorable gig.

Young The Giant ‘My Body’

This Californian five-piece are something rather awesome. They write the kind of melody-driven rock music that just seems destined for stadiums, infused with so much energy and passion that to listen to it at any volume below maximum seems like you’re doing the band a disservice.
