Splendour In The Grass Day Two Review

While Day One of Splendour In The Grass had been full to the brim with amazing music, timetable clashes, and rushing between stages with very little down time, Day Two for me was much more relaxed. I do think there were perhaps a few timetabling issues that could have been handled better, but ultimately this was just a personal preference thing: there wasn’t a whole heap of music I wanted to see during Day Two. Gig Review: Foster The People @ The HiFi, 27th July

It’s for a very good reason though- these guys make refreshing and supremely cool music that has already seen them play sold out tours across the States and indeed in Australia. Foster The People are returning here for the second time this year to play Splendour In The Grass as well as a few sideshows, and I caught up with lead singer/songwriter Mark Foster to talk Coachella, Torches, Pumped Up Kicks, and FIFA.

Album Review: Foster The People ‘Torches’

Every so often you come across an album that you know you are going to adore before you even listen to it. Foster The People’s debut record ‘Torches’ is one of these albums. Partly, that’s because we’ve already heard nearly half of the album on their self-titled EP. Mostly however, it’s because this is a band simply incapable of writing a bad song and whose music is oozing with so much charisma, polish, skill, and- well- coolness, that not to love it would take a serious and concentrated effort.

Gigamesh Remix Pumped Up Kicks

I don’t know who Gigamesh are, but their remix of Foster The People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ is very very hot right now.
