Foster The People Remix Grouplove And Vice Versa

Possibly coming about from their mutual stint in Australia for Splendour In The Grass, two of the best new bands going around at the moment, Foster The People and Grouplove, have remixed each others’ signature track.

Firstly, Foster The People give a much more tropical and dancey vibe to Grouplove’s Colours, as is their style, with the echoed chorus of “It’s the colours you have, no need to be sad” and without the iconic chant of “I am a man, man man man up up in the air”. It gives a completely different feel to the track, but it’s done in a very classy and nuanced way.

Returning the favour, Grouplove (along with some bro called Captain Cuts) remixed the one and only Pumped Up Kicks, which is quite the difficult gig given the sheer numbers of remixes of the track floating around. The do an absolutely fantastic job though, and it’s probably one of my favourite remixes of the summer anthem. They take the chilled chorus and turn it on its head, making for a completely different listening experience more akin to how Foster The People play the song live.

They’re both tracks that should find a home on your iPod, and you can grab them both for free from the RCRD LBL website.
