JJ ‘Beautiful Life’

Despite my continuing refusal to use lowercase ‘J’s, I’m actually a really big fan of the Swedish duo. Despite hitting some mainstream success with earlier releases the band is still a bit of a mystery, and in typical fashion they’ve released a new song onto the internet out of nowhere, entitled ’Beautiful Life’. Here it is.

Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros ‘That’s What’s Up’

Last week Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros gave us the first taste of their upcoming album ‘Here’, the single ‘Man On Fire’. Wasting no time, the band have released the second song from the album, ‘That’s What’s Up’. It’s a bit more of a jam than ‘Man On Fire’, and really brings back good memories of seeing the band play live, where it seemed like they were all just improvising everything they played and having a great time. There’s a definite sense of creative freedom here. Have a listen.

Mosman Alder ‘Raisin Heart’

Mosman Alder (not a person, rather a six-piece band from Brisbane) are soon to release their debut EP ‘Burn Bright’, which is out May 25th on Dew Process. In the meantime you can have a listen to a single taken from the EP below, a great little track intriguingly called ’Raisin Heart’.

Wolf And Cub ‘See The Light’

Nearly two years after the release of their second album, Adelaide outfit Wolf And Cub are back with a new double A-side single featuring both ‘See The Light’ and ‘All Through The Night’. They’re both very well-constructed dream pop numbers, but the former in particular really grabbed my attention with a persuasive bass line that draws you in. Check it out.

Antonio Paul ‘Sweet Wine’

What feels like an eternity ago I posted about a Western Australian duo, Antonio Paul, and their debut single ‘City Dreams’. It’s been a long time between drinks, but the band are finally back with a new single, this time in the form of ‘Sweet Wine’. Of course that’s not to say that the band haven’t been busy in the meantime- they’ve recorded their second EP, ‘End Of The World’, added a new bandmember, enjoyed airplay on JJJ and Rage, and toured around the country. But what really matters is of course the music, so check out ‘Sweet Wine’.

San Cisco ‘Rocket Ship’

When I first heard San Cisco’s EP ‘Golden Revolver’ early last year I had the feeling that I’d be hearing a lot more of the Perth band very soon, but to be honest I had no idea just how much or just how soon. The band’s recent single Awkward was a career-maker, polling in at number seven on some countdown I’ve never heard of before and earning the band a huge following around the country that has seen them all but sell out their current national tour. Well San Cisco are back with the second taste of their upcoming ‘Awkward’ EP, ‘Rocket Ship’.
