Big Scary Interview

Melbourne duo Big Scary have had a fascinating career considering that they are yet to release a traditional album. They’ve toured with a whole range of local and international acts, recorded four EPs structured around the seasons, and explored a whole spectrum of musical styles, from folk to garage rock. They have recently announced their debut album, and are playing at the BigSound festival in Brisbane, so I had quick chat with the more drumming-inclined of the duo, Jo.

It’s for a very good reason though- these guys make refreshing and supremely cool music that has already seen them play sold out tours across the States and indeed in Australia. Foster The People are returning here for the second time this year to play Splendour In The Grass as well as a few sideshows, and I caught up with lead singer/songwriter Mark Foster to talk Coachella, Torches, Pumped Up Kicks, and FIFA.

Grouplove Interview

LA outfit Grouplove are one of the hottest new bands going around right now, and have already garnered a huge following in Australia despite having released just the one EP, thanks in no small part to the insanely catchy and likeable single Colours. I had a chat with Hannah Hooper from the band ahead of their appearance at Splendour In The Grass and accompanying first ever Australian tour.
