The Middle East have announced that their debut/sophomore album ‘I Want That You Are Always Happy’ will be released on the 8th of April. We also have the very awesome artwork (see above) and the tracklist:
1. Black Death 1349
2. My Grandma Was Pearl Hall
3. As I Go To See Janey
4. Jesus Came To My Birthday Party
5. Land of The Bloody Unknown
6. Very Many
7. Sydney To Newcastle
8. Mount Morgan
9. Months
10. Dan’s Silverleaf
11. Hunger Song
12. Ninth Ave Reverie
13. Deep Water
Of course we’ve already heard Black Death 1349, Jesus Came To My Birthday Party, and Sydney To Newcastle, but the ten other tracks look like they are brand spanking new. It will be interesting to see how many the band have already played live, and whether the infamous talking word song makes an appearance.
The band will be launching the album in Melbourne on the 11th of June at the Corner Hotel, with tickets on sale the same day the album is released.
This is definitely one to watch for, and if I was a betting man I’d have this slated in as one of the best Australian releases of the year.
The spoken word song is called ‘Better Times Are On Their Way.’ Thus, I think it’s safe to say it’s probably not on there.
Who knows though, they could’ve changed it.
I think Track 5 is the song title of the year!
Ah okay, thanks for the tip. Interesting that they decided to leave it off after playing it live for so long. I also like the title of Track 2.
