Queensland act Gung Ho have released a new single, the followup to their breakout track ’Twin Rays’. This time around it’s called ‘Side By Side’, and it’s another wonderfully cruisy track, albeit a little lighter on the whole beach vibe, that demonstrates perfectly why these guys are so hot right now.

Hip Hatchet ‘American Charm’

No-one seems to know a huge deal about Hip Hatchet. We do know however that, under its current name, the band have existed for a few years, but also that they only really started to garner the fickle attention of the internet late last year with the release of an album entitled ‘Men Who Share My Name’. We also know that Hip Hatchet is currently based in Portland and is primarily the project of musician Philippe Bronchtein. They released a new album a couple of weeks ago.

Goldroom ‘Angeles’

Last year was a big one for LA local Goldroom, aka Josh Legg. He burst onto the scene with some killer remixes and production efforts before branching out to record some of his own music, and he has recently released his first single of 2012, ‘Angeles’. Unsurprisingly, the song is written about his hometown, and it passes in five minutes of breezy summer listening. Enjoy.

Oliver Tank ‘Last Night I Heard Everything’

Syndey electro artist Oliver Tank has been receiving a bit of attention lately. His debut EP ‘Deams’ was recently featured on NPR’s prestigious Top 5 Bandcamp Releases Of The Year list, the EP’s first single, Last Night I Heard Everything, is being used in a Get Up ad campaign in support of gay marriage which has been viewed over three million times on Youtube, and he has been nominated for a whole host of awards. It’s taken me a while to check him out, but it was well worth the wait.
