Mumford And Sons ‘The Enemy’

Here’s a new short but sweet song from Mumford And Sons, ‘The Enemy’, written for the movie adaption of ‘Wuthering Heights’. Apparently there are no plans to release the song properly, which is a bit of a pity because it’s rather awesome. At the moment you can only listen to it accompanied by a trailer for the film.

Bree Tranter ‘Winter’

Like a lot of people I was pretty disappointed with the breakup of Townsville’s most promising new band (not that there was a huge amount of competition), The Middle East. Born out of the death of that outfit however is the new career of former bandmember Bree Tranter, who provided the vocals for many of the more haunting moments of The Middle East’s music. Last Dinosaurs ‘Zoom’

If I’m completely honest, when I first saw Brisbane band Last Dinosaurs live I would have never in a million years predicted that the group would go on to be as big as they are now. Hey Geronimo ‘Why Don’t We Do Something?’

Hey Geronimo are something of a Brisbane supergroup, featuring members of The Boat People, Blame Ringo!, and Montpelier, three of my favourite indie Australian bands. So it’s hardly a surprise that I absolutely love their first single.

The Good China ‘No More Maps, No More Roads’

When I saw Melbourne eight-piece The Good China live last year one song really stood out to me, their closing number ‘No More Maps, No More Roads’. At the time I was disappointed to find out that it was unreleased, but the band have recently rectified this, releasing the song as a single and a free download from their Bandcamp page. Yay!
