As promised a couple of weeks ago, today we got to hear a collaboration between two of the hottest indie artists in the world right now, James Blake and Justin Vernon, when the track Fall Creek Boys Choir was premiered on Radio One. Stream it below.
It plays to the biggest strengths of both artists respectfully, structured around the vocals of Justin Vernon with James Blake mostly on production duties. To be honest I don’t think it’s an amazing song, but it’s very pretty and relaxing, and any chance to hear two artists of this calibre perform together is to be cherished.
The song is accompanied with the tagline ‘Enough Thunder – October 2011’. Enough Thunder is the name of a song James Blake has taken to performing live recently, so my reading of this cryptic message is that we can expect a Split EP from the two artists come October.
