New Song From The National ‘Exile Vilify’

The video game ‘Portal 2’ has just been released earlier today, and with it has come the release of a brand new song from The National recorded specifically for the game, in what is a very odd pairing indeed. The track is entitled Exile Vilify, and you can stream it below. It is predictably beautiful, and it would be interesting to see how it was used in the game. Even as just as standalone track though, this is a truly stunning tune. Those piano interludes are just sublime, and even though I’ve only listened to it a couple of times, it’s probably safe to say it’s one of the best songs I’ve heard so far this year.

It can be purchased via iTunes.

  1. Beautiful song! Was a nice little mellow surprise while playing through my new copy of Portal 2.
