[Day 18: A Song That You Wish You Heard On The Radio]
The Good China – We Found 3 Whistles
Like I said in the previous post, I don’t listen to the radio much at all. So there isn’t really a song that I wish I heard often on the radio, but there is plenty of music that I wish was played on the radio, because it would mean the band getting the exposure they deserve.
My first thought was The Basics, who I don’t feel ever really got the support they deserved from Australian radio. But then it looks like they’ve broken up now, and Triple J did play their stuff occasionally. So instead here’s another Australian band that has been around for a while, and have released some truly extraordinary music, but yet I’ve never actually heard them on the Js.
The Good China truly are an awesome outfit, and this song in particular, We Found 3 Whistles, is just magic. It definitely channels a bit of Arcade Fire for the euphoric choruses, and that is just fine with me.
I quite like this song being a bit of a hidden personal favourite, but from the band’s point of view I think they deserve to be played on radio more than they currently are.
