Big Scary Announce National Tour

Melbourne’s own Big Scary have announced that come March they will be hitting the road for their first ever national headline tour, in support of their EP-compilation album ‘Four Seasons’.

The album is one of my favourites of 2010, demonstrating perfectly Big Scary’s ability to shifty seamlessly from garage grunge songs to warm folk ballads. New single All That You’ve Got is a perfect example of the former, while tracks such as Thinking About You and Microwave Pizza show off the band’s more vulnerable side. Both sides of Big Scary’s music are brilliant, and the balancing act between them makes for an intriguing and entertaining live show.

The band is currently in the process of recording their debut traditional record, which is due for release later in 2011. They will be joined by The Honey Month and Step Panther for the tour- I’m a big fan of The Honey Month in particular, having posted about them a few months ago. This is a great chance to catch some quality Australian acts in an intimate setting and for a very reasonable price.
