Last night Georgia Fair played yet another pretty much faultless set in Melbourne, this time at a slightly larger venue, The Toff. It was indicative of the quality of their music that the venue was sold out, and with their debut full-length album on the way, this is a band that looks set to make it really really big. And if this show was any indication, they deserve to.

Gig Review: Children Collide @ The Prince Bandroom, 22nd April
Last night Children Collide played a furious and exuberant set at the Prince Bandroom that left the crowd stunned and sweaty. There was always the risk of the show being stolen by opening act Red Riders, with the Aussie favourites recently announcing that this would be their second last Melbourne show, however whilst the support act were indeed very enjoyable, Children Collide left everyone in no doubt whatsoever as to who the headline act was.

Gig Review: Eddie Vedder @ The Palais, 25th March
Eddie Vedder walks calmly onto the Palais Theatre Stage. He is wearing relaxed and slightly bohemian clothes, almost like a mere mortal. Fitting this, the stage is setup like a really rich busker’s haunt, with about twenty different guitars surrounding one solitary chair and microphone at front and center.
The crowd goes wild. It’s a curious crowd as well, mostly consisting of diehard Pearl Jam fans wearing tour shirts from ten years ago and looking out of place without a mosh pit, with a smattering of hipsters lured out by the promise of material from Vedder’s ‘Into The Wild’ soundtrack.

Gig Review: Georgia Fair And Daniel Lee Kendall @ The Empress Hotel, 24th March
It was something of a gentle folk music lovers’ wet dream at the Empress Hotel last night. Surrounded by the idyllic atmosphere of the small venue, a packed crowd enjoyed chilling out to some fantastic music provided by three up and coming Australians acts, spearheaded by the always wonderful Georgia Fair.
