Emilie Simon ‘Mon Chevalier’

French musician Emilie Simon has just released a new video for her song ‘Mon Chevalier’, taken from her upcoming fifth studio album ‘Franky Knight’, which also doubles as the soundtrack to the movie ‘Delicacy’. Given that she also wrote the critically acclaimed music used in the ‘March Of The Penguins’ film-come-documentary, it’s probably worth paying attention to this. Here’s the video in question.

Friends ‘Mind Control’

One of the year’s biggest buzzbands, Brooklyn (where else?) outfit Friends have released the latest taste of their upcoming debut album, a single called ‘Mind Control’. It’s really just more of the same, but that’s perfectly fine when what came before was so infectious and fun. Here’s the track.

Here it is.

Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros ‘That’s What’s Up’

Last week Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeros gave us the first taste of their upcoming album ‘Here’, the single ‘Man On Fire’. Wasting no time, the band have released the second song from the album, ‘That’s What’s Up’. It’s a bit more of a jam than ‘Man On Fire’, and really brings back good memories of seeing the band play live, where it seemed like they were all just improvising everything they played and having a great time. There’s a definite sense of creative freedom here. Have a listen.
