Battleships ‘Your Words’

Sydney four-piece Battleships recently released their second single, Your Words, which is the followup to their debut single In Retrospect, because that’s how chronology works. In Retrospect received a heap of praise and really announced Battleships to the Australian music scene, and Your Words looks set to continue this arrival. It’s four minutes of carefully constructed, intelligent music that grows steadily to a wonderful climax, adding layers of sound one after another to create a brilliantly textured song, before stripping them away with just as much ease.

Tin Can Radio ‘It Goes On’

Brisbane band Tin Can Radio produced some great indie pop music last year, at the same time as they built a reputation for having a killer and very energetic live show. Since then they have been in hibernation for six months, but they’ve just emerged with their new single ’It Goes On’, which is easily their strongest track to date.
