Last Dinosaurs Interview

Last year was a decent one for Brisbane band Last Dinosaurs. They recorded their debut album, played with some huge international bands, watched their songs accrue over a million views on Youtube, and toured a little bit as well. With the aforementioned debut album, ‘In A Million Years’, due for release within a month and a UK tour ahead, 2012 is poised pretty damn nicely for them as well. I had a chat with lead singer Sean Caskey ahead of the album launch tour, but mostly we just ended up talking about the past and the future.

Antonio Paul ‘Sweet Wine’

What feels like an eternity ago I posted about a Western Australian duo, Antonio Paul, and their debut single ‘City Dreams’. It’s been a long time between drinks, but the band are finally back with a new single, this time in the form of ‘Sweet Wine’. Of course that’s not to say that the band haven’t been busy in the meantime- they’ve recorded their second EP, ‘End Of The World’, added a new bandmember, enjoyed airplay on JJJ and Rage, and toured around the country. But what really matters is of course the music, so check out ‘Sweet Wine’.

Gig Review: M83 @ The Prince Bandroom, 3rd February

If there was ever a time to see M83 live it is now. Armed both with material from their critically acclaimed and insanely popular 2011 double-album, as well as choice numbers from their older records, the band put on an exhilarating and powerful live show at the perfect venue of the Prince Bandroom to an adoring crowd.

Goldroom ‘Angeles’

Last year was a big one for LA local Goldroom, aka Josh Legg. He burst onto the scene with some killer remixes and production efforts before branching out to record some of his own music, and he has recently released his first single of 2012, ‘Angeles’. Unsurprisingly, the song is written about his hometown, and it passes in five minutes of breezy summer listening. Enjoy.
