Melbourne’s Kins have been floating around for the better part of two years, releasing singles, getting plenty of airplay on Triple J, and securing some very cool support slots with the likes of Big Scary. Fronted by singer/songwriter Thomas Savage, Kins play atmospheric and minimalist pop music that has a way of getting under your skin.
Kins – United Fate
The band have recently announced the release of a new mini-LP fantastically entitled ‘Dancing Back And Forth, Covered In Whipped Cream’, which is apparently based on the true story of a man who spent $2000 in a brothel and was baffled at his wife’s lack of understanding. Fair enough. It’s out May 20 independently.
Kins will also be embarking on their first semi-national headline tour in support of the album, with dates in Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide:
ADELAIDE – JUNE 3RD
Metropolitan Hotel with Steering By Stars & Mountbatten.
9pm. $10.
SYDNEY – JUNE 17TH
The World Bar with Bird Automatic & The Dead Leaves.
9pm. $15.
MELBOURNE – JUNE 24TH
The Workers Club with Howl at the Moon & The Townhouses.
9pm. $10.
Great prices, great support acts, and a great headliner: there’s really no reason not to check out these shows. In the meantime, hit them up on bandcamp.
