I Love A Girl With A Scar And A Car And A Dress That Matches The Both Of Them

Hope everyone had a happy christmas, I certainly did. Naturally the blog has been a bit quiet over the last week or so, but if you haven’t already then don’t forget to check my ‘Best Of 2010’ lists, the links are in the sidebar.

But anyway I’m heading to The Basics tonight, which will be my last gig of the year, even though I still think Jonathan Boulet was just about the most perfect way possible to finish the year as far as gigs go. Therefore I’ll have a review of that up in the next couple of days, as well as a few new proper posts.

But in the meantime, here’s a cool song.

Yes it’s nine minutes long, but it’s so worth it. The song is Ornithopters from The Whiskers, a band who interestingly record much of their music with the help of the internet due to the band members living far apart from one another. This is a remarkably coherent and focused track given its length, and at times sounds uncannily like a slightly mellowed out Spencer Krug. If the first few minutes aren’t doing it for you then it really picks up towards the five minute mark.

But yeah, it’s great.
