By now you’ve almost certainly heard Foster The People’s summer chill anthem Pumped Up Kicks (if not, check out my post about it a while back). For a band that is absolutely killing it on the interwebs at the moment however, we know very little about the LA outfit.
This is in part why I was so excited to receive a vinyl single of Pumped Up Kicks a few days ago. It also features a b-side, the only other song I’ve heard in studio form from the band. It’s called Chin Music For The Unsuspecting Hero, and even though it sounds absolutely nothing like Pumped Up Kicks it is still very cool.
I have no idea how to rip from vinyl, and the only online version of the song I’ve been able to find is an old video of the song performed by Mark Foster, lead singer of Foster The People (I see what he did there!), before the formation of the band. As far as I can tell it’s the same version that is included on the vinyl. Check it out:
[Edit: seeing as how Google still loves this post, here’s a link to a working video which includes a download link]
