  1. Very impressed with the lineup & def agree about the sideshows – missed them last time around. Quite excited about Rammstein too – love all the live recordings I’ve heard.

  2. Worst lineup ever

  3. I’m not sure why you think its bad – I mean, you don’t say why.

I actually think its much better than some of the more recent ones. Tool and Iggy and the Stooges will be fairly epic. Who were you expecting?

    • Fair enough, obviously it’s all up to personal preference. Tool, Rammstein, Primal Scream, Lupe Fiasco, Andrew WK etc just aren’t my type of music really. And that’s most of the headliners. This reads more like a Soundwave announcement to me, at least in terms of the international acts. Or, maybe my expectations have jut been permanently and unfairly raised by Splendour.

      • Lachy – I get you’re point, and you’re not the first to make that point. Though, I’d encourage you to have a listen – Iggy Pop and the Stooges was one of the most influential proto-punk bands of all time – probably both directly and indirectly some of the music you probably like.

I saw Iggy play at BDO a few years back, and it was incredible. All these people stormed the stage and partied with the band during an epic version of ‘I wanna be your dog’. Crazy.

However, I don’t think its the greatest one ever either. Then again, I haven’t thought BDO has been very good for at least 5-6 years. Then again, as I’ve got older (late 20s now), my tastes have changed….maybe for the better, maybe for the worse, its all subjective anyway.

  4. It is a much heavier line-up than in the past. I think I’d be all over this if I was a teenager in the 90s. Still, I’m considering it just for Iggy Pop who probably won’t do a sideshow.
