You Have To Hear: Jonathan Boulet

Jonathan Boulet is a musician from Sydney, and his debut self-titled album, released last year, has earned him accolades from all around the country.

I saw him live for the first time at Homebake festival in Sydney and immediately fell in love with his catchy hooks and upbeat rhythms. He has just announced his first nation-wide headline tour, so try to catch him in your home town if you can. For Melbourne readers, he is playing at the Northcote Social Club on February 12th for only $15, so it’s definitely a gig not to be missed.

If you’re lucky enough to be going to the Sydney Laneway Festival, then make sure to catch Jonathan Boulet playing there as well.

In the meantime however check out his video of A Community Service Announcement, an insanely catchy song, and one of my favourite tracks of 2009. The video even features analogue effects, as does virtually every other indie music video coming out of Australia for some reason.
