I haven’t listened to as many full albums as I usually do this year, especially when it comes to Australian music. So more than ever before this really is a list of my favourite albums of the year, rather than the best albums of the year. With that being said, all the end-of-year lists I’ve read so far have been very similar, so at least this one might be a little different.

Lord Huron ‘Time To Run’

One of my favourite ‘hidden gem’ bands, Lord Huron, are set to release their debut album in the coming months. The album in question will be called ‘Lonesome Dreams’, and is the followup to several EPs that the band have put out, including the truly excellent ‘Mighty EP’. Today the band made the first single from ‘Lonesome Dreams’ available for free download, because they’re just cool like that.
