The XX ‘Chained’

The XX have posted another cut from their upcoming record ‘Coexist’ online, this time in the form of Chained. It’s a brilliant track, folding in on itself again and again like The XX’s best music and growing steadily at the same time, most notably through that electronic drum beat that sounds so out of place until it melds slowly into the rhythm of the song.

The XX ‘Unknown’

The XX have been playing a heap of new songs live lately in preparation for the release of their new album ‘Coexist’, but it appears like one new song that they played at Primavera Sound last week slipped under the radar a little bit. That’s because, according to people more informed on the matter than me, it seems as if the song hasn’t been played anywhere else.

The XX Australian Tour

Following the announcement that their hotly anticipated second album will be entitled ‘Coexist’, The XX will return to Australia this July for two intimate shows in Melbourne and Sydney. I caught the band last time they were here, and while they were only ‘good’ at Laneway I imagine that they are much better suited to headline indoor shows as opposed to festivals, so this really is a tour not to be missed.
