The XX ‘Chained’

The XX have posted another cut from their upcoming record ‘Coexist’ online, this time in the form of Chained. It’s a brilliant track, folding in on itself again and again like The XX’s best music and growing steadily at the same time, most notably through that electronic drum beat that sounds so out of place until it melds slowly into the rhythm of the song. But then it’s strange listening to how much everyone is analysing new music from the band, given that a lot of the charm of their debut record was that it was such an unknown beast. Just enjoy the track without thinking about it too much.
