The Ruminaters ‘Deadstuff’

The last thing that the Australian indie scene really needs is another garage-surf-rock band, but when the band in question is as good as Sydney’s The Ruminaters, I can certainly make an exception. Plus, any band that describes their music as “beatnik barnyard hillbilly swamp rock” can’t be bad.  Have a listen to their first (and I believe only?) single, Deadstuff.

I especially love the complete change of tempo halfway through that adds a bit of depth to an otherwise fairly straightforward track. The frantic climax is also something rather special. Grab it for free from the player above, and check them out on Unearthed and Facebook.
