Inspired And The Sleep ‘While We’re Young’

While We’re Young is the new single from Californian musician Max Greenhalgh, who has recently finished the recording of a solo album dubbed ‘Teenager’. Yeah, there’s a bit of a trend here. Naturally, the song is a melodic lofi pop number, but instead of being cliched it’s actually a fantastic example of summer music done right. With the warmer weather obviously on its way, we could all do with a bit more music like this.

I also really like the story of how the project got its name. Says Max: “The name of the band was formed around the concept of feeling completely inspired to take hold of life and be the best person you can be the next day before going to bed, then waking up as to reset those aspirations with normalized motivation and just more of the same. I’ve been an insomniac for the last three years or so. Therefore I’d spend countless nights unintentionally staying awake in a subconscious effort to keep the inspiration alive”.

I’ve only heard this one track from the band/musician/revolving project/whatever, but I absolutely love it. Apparently Max wrote all the lyrics while sitting in a lifeguard tower on a San Diego beach, and it really does show. This is just lovely summer music. Grab the track for free from Bandcamp and check out Inspired And The Sleep on Facebook.
