First We Live, And Then We Die

Holly Throsby is a singer/songwriter from Sydney. She’s been around the Australian music scene for the better part of six years now, although somehow I’ve missed finding out about her until now.

Her new record, ‘Team’, is truly fantastic. Acoustic music doens’t come much more raw, genuine, or touching than this. Picture Lisa Mitchell meets Horse Feathers meets The Tallest Man On Earth. Yes, she’s that awesome.

The album is spearheaded by opening track What I Though Of You, which is pretty much amazing.

If you’re like me and hadn’t heard of Holly Throsby, I can’t recommend strongly enough that you pick up ‘Team’. It’s one of those rare albums that stays with you long after you have finished listening to it. You can catch her at the Corner Hotel on the 25th of March with the always excellent Otouto.
