Antonio Paul

Antonio Paul is actually two people, Marc Papalia and Michael Edwards. Hailing from Western Australia, they’re both only 19 years old, but have recently released an impressively polished EP ‘Treasures’.

This is real music for the summer. Their influences may range from Phoenix to Los Campesinos! to Girls, however ultimately Antonio Paul have created a sound that really is all their own: fiercely independent and youthful, frantic but also very coherent and hook-based.

As a case in point, check out City Dreams. I can’t get enough of this track, and it’s hard to see it not taking off in a big way all around Australia. The fact that they create such a full sound with only two people, and are apparently able to reproduce this live, is only more impressive.

Yeah, this is pretty much shit hot right now.
