It’s been ages since a random shout out to a cool band, so here goes. Piano Club is a band from Belgium who play a really addictive combination of pop and dance music.
Deceptively, there is no piano in their music, but you can definitely hear the influence of artists such as The Klaxons, who they have supported on tours in the past. Their debut album, ‘Andromedia’, is a pretty cool piece of work, moving between guitar driven dance songs like Your Sadness to the straight up electro pop fun of Love Hurts with ease.
They are clearly heavy on the production side of things, but there’s something very endearing about their clear belief that you can’t have enough of a good thing. There’s no holding back in this album: it’s just pure fun in musical form, from start to finish. Plus it has that one song that is so insanely catchy that you can’t help but love it, even if it seems a bit gimmicky: Not Too Old.
