Last Friday, Pluck favourites Yves Klein Blue made the trip to the Triple J studios to perform the Like A Version segment.
Lead singer Michael started by playing the band’s newest single, About The Future, live in the studio, and it was simply magnificent. It is one of the best live songs I’ve ever heard, and even though this time round it seemed comparatively flat to when he plays it at gigs, it was still absolutely brilliant.
It was really interesting to learn that his hands were shaking before playing it, showing that he still gets nervous just like a mere mortal, and that this song really does have special meaning for him.
Then the rest of the band joined Michael and played a version of Lou Reed’s Walk On The Wild Side, which was great. They passed up on their tried and tested covers of Born To Run and Love Is In The Air, so it will be interesting to see which cover they opt to play at live gigs this tour.
Anyway, head over to Triple J to listen to and/or download the segment, and if you haven’t already, make sure to catch the boys when they tour Melbourne in March.
