Dads ‘Life, Oh Life’

Dads is the solo project of Tom Iansek, one half of Melbourne duo Big Scary. He recently released his debut album, ‘Man Of Leisure’, and its first single, Life, Oh Life is a pretty damn gorgeous pop tune.

It’s exactly what you’d expect: a Big Scary track without the focus on drumming and harmonies, complete with the rawness that characterised much of their earlier music. I imagine Tom must be sick of having his music defined by seasons, but this really does feel like a song made for a cold winter night, providing a real sense of comfort and homeliness.
